BFGI: 2017-18 Examinations Scheduled To Be Held On 19th May 2018.
Sir/Madam
While drawing your kind attention to the subject cited above, this is to inform you that the Professional Fisheries Graduate Forum, India (PFGF) has postponed the 1st round of Best Fisheries Graduates of India-2017 (BFGI:2017-18) examination in view of the Karnataka election to the legislative assembly of the state on 12th May 2018. PFGF has modified its notification and postponed the BFGI: 2017-18 examinations.
The re-scheduled examinations will be conducted on 19th May 2018. The re-scheduled date of examination will remain the same for all states.
Eligibility
Only final year B.F.Sc. students who are about to complete their degree would be eligible.
Date of Examination
The test will be conducted on 19th May, 2018 at 9.30 am to 11.30 (General Knowledge-Paper I) and 11.45 am to 1.45 pm (Fisheries-Paper II). Heads of Institutions/College representatives will be requested to conduct examination as in the previous years.
Selection Process
¨ Marks scored up to the end of 7th Semester would be considered and accounted for 30%. The marks secured in written test will be accounted for 30% in the first round.
¨ The written test will have two papers: First paper will be of objective type consisting of
¨ General Studies, General Knowledge, English, Quantitative Aptitude and General Science for 100 marks. This will be of TWO HOURS duration and the score obtained in this paper will account for 10%. Second paper will be of TWO HOURS duration with the objective type of questions based on fisheries subjects covered during the four year degree program under the ICAR syllabus for 100 marks. The score obtained by this paper will be accounted for 20% (Total 60%).
¨ Negative marking will be applied for both the papers (0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer)
¨ PFGF will coordinate the evaluation of answer script and announce the merit list on or before June 20th, 2018.
Based on the score obtained top ten students and top ranking student from each of the college not represented in the top ten will be invited for second round of selection, the venue, date and other details of second round selection processes will be announced later and intimated to the invited candidates well in advance. The second round of selection (Total 40%) will consist of a practical test for 100 marks (20%), elocution competition on fishery topics (10%), followed by an interview by a panel of experts (10%).
Registration
If you desire to take the examination to be held on 19th May, 2018, please register your name by paying a registration fee of Rs. 200/- by Cash with The Dean/Head of the Institution or PFGF representative of respective college on or before 18th May, 2018. The registration fee will be used to cover the expenses of conducting the examination.
